I think we can give you something better for the pain.
Like marijuana?
No, I can't do that.
Darn. I thought that might be fun. I'm 83, you know. I don't have much time left to try things.
Well, it might, but it's not all that helpful for pain. It's more effective for nausea.
I wouldn't know. I never used it. My son did, and he tried to give me some, but my husband was much more conservative and he wouldn't allow it.
Oh?
No, he made them pull up all the plants from the yard, too. It was so pretty. Then again, when the police came, that wasn't so good.

My aunt and uncle are both dying from cancer right now. (Hospice is working with my uncle at this point.) One night, they decided they were going to actually try pot before they died... so they found someone to sell them 2 joints. The guy told them to maybe share one, but they sat on their porch and each smoked an entire one. They went to bed, but then my uncle needed to use the bathroom, and couldn't figure out how to get back up, so they had to call friends to come help him. My aunt just stayed in bed and giggled.
Wish I had been there for that!
Mary, I am so sorry to hear about your uncle and aunt, but that is a wonderful story. I wish I could have been there, too. We try to help our patients live the way they want to, but some experiences we can't help with!
What a hilarious exchange :) I have had a few of those myself (not mentioning which role of the dialog I was playing) ;)
